About the owner, Amanda
Amanda began her grooming career in 2013 as a shop bather and became a groomer through an apprenticeship. She graduated from Schoolcraft College in Livonia with her business degree. In addition, she frequently attends pet industry related continuing education classes, and is Pet CPR/First Aid certified. Her goal is to give your pets a positive, safe grooming experience with a haircut you love. In her spare time outside of the business, she enjoys volunteering to walk shelter dogs, many different types of crafting, and spending time with her nieces (all with a coffee, or two!).

2022 Kensington Chamber Community Awards
Salon owner, Amanda, was honored at the 2022 Kensington Chamber Community Awards Luncheon and received the Rising Star award, Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition, Certificate of the House of Representatives Recognition, Certificate of Special Senatorial Recognition, as well as a Certificate of Recognition by the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. Prefurred Pet Salon was nominated by our loyal clients in the community.
SLCS Pack of Social Emotional Learning Dogs
We take pride in being more than just a pet grooming salon and strive to be more proactive in the community each year! Since our doors opened in 2020, we have donated countless hours grooming severely neglected animals for our partnered rescues to get them adoption ready. We also offer discounted grooming services for all recently adopted animals through the Michigan Humane Society of Huron Valley location. Additionally, we provide free grooming services to our community’s very own “SLCS Pack of Social Emotional Learning Dogs”. Outside of our animal-related charitable activities, we frequently sponsor school age South Lyon sports teams and holiday events.

Prefurred Pet Salon was a two-time scarecrow contest winner in fall of 2021 featuring Charlie Brown washing Snoopy! We also won in 2022 for our Curella De Vil!
